At Whitestone Jewellery, sourcing the right pearl starts long before it reaches our workbench. We work closely with pearl farmers in Hong Kong and Japan, alongside trusted suppliers in the UK and the US, who share our commitment to responsible sourcing from pearl-growing regions around the world. 

Every pearl we use is hand-selected, not just for its size or shape, but for the qualities that set a truly exceptional pearl apart: deep, mirror-like lustre, a clean and even surface and a natural glow that catches the light from every angle. It’s a meticulous process, but one we believe is essential- a pearl's beauty is in the details. 

For pieces featuring multiple pearls, such as strands, earrings, or clusters, we take equal care with matching – pairing each pearl for consistency in colour, shape, size and lustre, so the finished pieces feel balanced and cohesive rather than assembled. It’s a skill that takes a trained eye, and one we never rush.
