Pearl Care & Maintenance
Pearls are timeless treasures—delicate, organic gems that require gentle care to preserve their radiant beauty. Follow these simple care tips to ensure your pearls remain luminous for generations:
1. Last On, First Off
Pearls are sensitive to chemicals found in cosmetics, perfume, hairspray, and lotions. Always put your pearls on last when dressing and take them off first at the end of the day.
2. Wipe After Wearing
After each wear, gently wipe your pearls with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove body oils, sweat, and any surface residue. This helps maintain their natural lustre.
3. Store Separately
Store pearls flat in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box—away from other jewellery to avoid scratches. Never store them in airtight plastic bags; pearls need moisture to maintain their sheen and shouldn’t dry out.
4. Avoid Water and Chemicals
Keep pearls away from water, chlorine, cleaning agents, and acidic environments. Never wear them while swimming, bathing, or cleaning.
5. Wear Them Often
Pearls benefit from the natural oils in your skin, which help maintain their moisture and shine. Wearing your pearls regularly keeps them looking their best.
6. Restringing
If you wear your pearls frequently, have them professionally restrung every 1–2 years to avoid strand breakage. Ensure they're knotted between each pearl to prevent rubbing and loss if the strand breaks.
Caring for your pearls with love ensures they remain heirlooms of elegance and beauty—just as nature intended.
